Shu Ling is an Advisor at MORROW with a focus on economic development strategy, industrial policy, and economic feasibility underpinning large scale urban, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
Shu Ling started her career as an economist at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, where she helped develop, plan and assess economic policies ranging from investment promotion to free trade agreements and port development. She subsequently led the global economic development topic at Boston Consulting Group, advising clients across Singapore, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Qatar on industry positioning. At BCG, she developed a conceptual plan and strategy to diversify the Saudi economy, including an assessment of growth constraints, and led the development of a provincial economic development plan in Vietnam, identifying focus industries and an investment attraction strategy that culminated in an investment promotion conference attended by the Prime Minister.
She subsequently moved to BHP, the world’s largest mining company, leading a team forecasting demand for commodities such as iron ore and copper using macro and sector-driven methodologies.
